OnePlus - To Launch the First Ever Smart Wear

One Plus is planning to launch its new OnePlus’ BAND as a New Year surprise with new designs, features, and colors.

OnePlus’ is planning to make an announcement about entering the smart wear segment with their new band. Now a days, all smartphone companies come up with various kinds of segments to expand their business and try to become an AIoT platform with other connected devices as a part of a bigger market.

In 2020, OnePlus entered with a number of new segments in their product categories including smart TV’s, mid-range smartphones like OnePlus Nord, N10 and N100 & true wireless earphones with OnePlus Buds and Buds Z in market.

Now OnePlus wants to launch a new product as in the wearable category. The OnePlus Bands will comes with various eye catching color schemes. The silicone bands will have two variants. There’s a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with customizable faces and also an option to use own photos or wallpapers. It will show incoming notifications, call information, music controls, the weather, and other information. This band also comes up with 13 different workout modes. This band will be water-resistant up to 50 meters and comes with IP68 rating. On the back there will be a heart rate sensor and a blood oxygen monitor, and the band c track your sleep when worn overnight.

It will connect to customers’ phone via Bluetooth and sync with a new OnePlus’ Health app. Initially, the app will only be available to Android users, but an eventual iOS version was also promised by the manufacturer. The OnePlus Band’s battery can last for 14 days between charges, and that’s with sleep tracking, notifications, and continuous heart rate monitoring active.

This band will be available globally as per manufacturer instruction. There is no confirmation on availability in other markets such as the U.S., U.K., Australia or India, so customers will have to wait for more information from OnePlus on that. However, this next phase of expansion might be the toughest yet, as it competes with other smart phone companies in the market without any of the first-hand experience.
