Cannabis Cannot Be Measure Factor in motivation in Work

New research found that both cannabis user and non-user groups, teenagers typically scored higher on anhedonia and apathy than adults, although cannabis usage did not increase this difference.

In the world, cannabis is used more frequently than alcohol and nicotine combined. There has been a great deal of worry about the possible effects of cannabis usage on the growing brain and that consuming cannabis throughout adolescence could have negative effects at a crucial stage in a person's life. However, fresh research has indicated that the stereotype frequently depicted in the media has no scientific validity.

Researchers from UCL, Cambridge University, and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King's College London led a study to determine whether cannabis users exhibit higher levels of apathy and anhedonia than non-users and whether they are less willing to put forth physical effort. The study CannTEEN included the research. The team paired 274 cannabis users of the same age and gender with non-users of the same age and gender who had used cannabis  at least weekly on average.

This setup was used by the researchers to study how the brain reacts with a particular emphasis on the ventral striatum. The researchers discovered no connection between activity in this area and cannabis use, indicating that users and non-users of cannabis shared identical mechanisms. The research, one of the first to explicitly examine cannabis usage between young people and adults, reveals that young people are not more susceptible than adults to the negative effects of cannabis on pleasure, motivation.

According to the findings, cannabis use does not seem to affect recreational users' motivation. Daily cannabis users who took part in the study had no higher risk of lacking motivation than non-users. However, researchers cannot completely rule out the potential that increased usage, as found in certain individuals with cannabis use disorder, has an impact.
