BMW Launches New R18 in India at US$ 25713.00

The R18 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km per hour.

BMW has launched the new R18 in the Indian market at US$ 25713.00. The all-new R18 is available in two variants such as First Edition and Standard, the First Edition variant features additional embellishments. The price of the R18 Standard is US$ 25713.00 (Rs 18.9 lakh), while the price of the R18 First Edition is US$ 29794.42 (Rs 21.9 lakh). The First Edition gets a seat badge with a First Edition clasp, extra chrome elements, and a Blackstorm metallic paint shade. Moreover, the R18 First Edition features heated grips, hill-start assist, and cornering headlights.

The all-new R18 looks quite similar, in many ways, to the 1936 BMW R5 cruiser. The R18 gets an LED headlamp, the swooping rear fender, and a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank. Other details such as the rear mono shock, front fork covers, and the exposed drive shaft are hidden inside the frame. The new R18 is equipped with the new 1,802cc, air & oil-cooler engine that delivers 91 hp of power at 4,750 rpm and 158 Nm of peak torque at 3,000 rpm. The new engine unit is the biggest engine that the company has ever manufactured.

According to BMW, the R18 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour (0 to 62 miles) in just 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km per hour. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an exposed drive shaft. The R18 is built on the yesteryears BMW Cruiser and is kitted with modern-day electronics. Moreover, the new R18 gets three ride modes such as Rock, Roll, and Rain. The R18 also gets engine drag torque control and switchable automatic stability control. Moreover, BMW is also providing customization options for the customers, which includes custom-made handlebar, side panels, exhausts, and seats.
